Mike Pence’s plane skids off runway at LaGuardia Airport – No Injuries – Airport Closed
It happened around 7:45 p.m. at runway 22L, the plane came to a stop at the perimeter fence, none of the 37 passengers on board were injured.
Photos from the scene showed that the aircraft had run into grass adjacent to the runway, causing mud to be splattered onto the plane’s windows, but there was no indication of any serious damage.
Reporters who are on board the aircraft say Governor Pence is safe and there were no immediate reports of any other injuries. Emergency services are responding to the scene to assess the situation. It was not immediately known what caused the incident.
A spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
